About Us

Scott Country Marine was created many years ago. But our story starts way before that date! How far back do you want to go? Let’s start at what I perceive as the real beginning. A guy by the name of Hank Mullen was a working at Crosstown Marine back in the late 70’s and through the mid 80’s. If you purchased a Sea Ray boat in that era, there’s good odds you bought it from Hank. In 1986 Hank ventured out on his own and started Mullen Marine Brokerage. As the next few years went by, he moved from place to place, finally ending up in Delano, MN. He was mainly brokering used boats but also picked up a couple of new product lines: DAKA Docks and Triton trailers.

In 1994, Scott purchased a used boat from Hank Mullen. This is where Mark Scott enters the story. At that same time, Scott was looking for a part-time job and began working for Hank. He didn’t know it at the time but that part-time gig would end up defining a large part of his life! He ended up working at Mullen Marine every summer throughout college and full time for a year and ½ afterward. During this time, Hank added a new line of pontoons called GillGetter which is now known as Qwest Pontoons. In November of 2001, Mark left Mullen Marine to pursue a marketing career in Minneapolis.

Throughout this same time period, the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Scott worked for a variety of marine business in the area before stepping out on his own. By 2005, he had more boats around his house than he knew what to do with and was looking for a garage to rent.

Fast forward to 2006. Hank put his business up for sale. Scott step up to buy Mullen Marine Brokerage in April of 2006. Mark brought his marketing and sales background. Brian brought his mechanics and service background. We hit the ground running and haven’t looked back.

Milestones for SCM

April 2006, purchased Mullen Marine, an existing Qwest Dealer.
Later changed the name to Scott Country Marine
2008 – Became a certified Honda Marine Dealer
2010 – Became a Porta Dock Dealer
2012 – Became a certified Mercury Dealer
2013 moved to our current facility – a 22,000 Sq. ft. floorplan w/ a large showroom & multiple service bays
2014 – Became a StarCraft Pontoon Dealer
2015 – Became a KingFisher Boat Dealer
2019 – Became a Skeeter Dealer
2019 – Became a certified Yamaha Dealer
2020 – Became a SeaArk Dealer
2020 – Became a Bass Cat & YarCraft Dealer

PARTS & ACCESSORIES: We stock a large selection of both. If we don’t have it on hand most parts can be here in one or two business days. We are always looking to stock the newest products to keep your boat on the cutting edge.

AUTHORZED SERVICE CENTER: Our service department is a certified Mercury, Yamaha and Honda warranty center. We work on most brands of outboards and I/O’s. Call in to make an appointment or ask us any question you might have.
